Having a right ol' giraffe

Curtis took on Sunday mood by sleeping right through from 7pm-5.30am meaning that Steph got 6.5hrs sleep in one go. Just like most kids with a new toy the first thing Curtis did today was play with the giraffe he got from Claire yesterday. Its size and shape means it fits on his body perfectly so that he can cuddle it and hit it's chiming feet all at once. After a quick stroll around Maxwell Park with both this parents today he was then whisked off to Rouken Glen garden centre where he laughed at the plants and pots and scored a few cute points with people as he smiled at them at the tills. We are so glad to see that he is happy to smile at other people as we are starting to see that he becomes a little more fussy about who he spends time with and what he's doing. His likes and dislikes are certainly being honed and along with his ever incresaing vocabulary of laughing sounds, giggling, squeals, coos, grunts, groans, cries and yelps we are certainly kept on our toes interpreting his moods and signals. On the whole, his mood is mainly positive...in fact he's so keen on giggling and laughing that we can sometimes persuade him to convert what starts out as crying to giggling and smiling.

April Bargain hunting & visit from Claire

Saturday saw the first of this years NCT sales in the West End and after getting so many bargains last November, Steph decided to tackle the event again - only this time with Curtis strapped into a harness rather than neatly and conveniently tucked in her belly as he was last time. An NCT sale is a 2 hour riot of baby shopping as Partick Burgh Hall becomes crammed to the rafters with pregnant women, parents and their kids battling to buy as many quality second hand baby products and clothes as possible. The goods are so well priced everyone just grabs what they can. It was a gamble as to whether Curtis would keep his cool in this environment but luckily he was so overwhelmed that he fell asleep allowing Steph to squeeze along the aisles to grab a bumbo seat, bath seat and a whole heap of clothes. He even stayed asleep for much of the 30 minute queue to pay. Triumphant they headed back home to meet Claire.

Claire brought Curtis a lovely present of a cute toy giraffe - which is perfect as he does like 'having a giraffe' these days. The weather held out allowing Steph and Claire to go for a walk around, yep you've guessed it - Maxell Park but sadly Curtis mood took a turn for the worse later that day as not only had he not managed to clock up much sleep today (too much going on for him to switch off), his trips in car seat, pram and harness seemed to leave him lacking enough cuddle time to keep him happy. He burst into tears if he was put down or left for two minutes. After spending some quality cuddle time with his mum tho' he was happily ready for bed at just a little later than his bed time, which also meant he got to see his dad when he was home from work too.
