Trip to Ikea, eating my own feet & drinking water...

Now that Curtis sleeps best in his car seat I try to think of places I need to go to in the car to coincide with his morning sleep. This morning both Curtis and I could be found wide mouthed, snoring and fast asleep outside Ikea b4 going inside to do some shopping. Ah, he did look cute in his little trolley seat.

Later Curtis continued his gymnastic efforts of getting his toes in his mouth and spent a while on his latest favourite activity - drinking water from a cup. Curtis finds all aspects of drinking water utterly hilarious - he gets an all over body shake of excitement at the mere site of his drinking cup and then grins and chuckles wide eyed with every mouthful, seeming to find each sip of water as shocking and puzzling as the last.

I've been meaning to try and take a photo of Curtis's little teeth for some time so tried to use the fact that he opens his mouth (and eyes!) wide with excitement when shown his drinking cup to catch his teeth on camera....amusing and finally succesful results below... double click on any photo to make it bigger and see his gnashers (and mucky face) larger than life!

A day at home with daddy

Today Curtis was with his dad most of the day as mum took some time to try to find work files on the PC and work papers in readiness for her return to the office in a few weeks time. Gareth therefore had the experience of spending large chunks of the day sat in the car while Curtis slept. Curtis will wake up if you try to move the car seat to take him indoors so to ensure he gets hsi sleep we just lean the drivers chair back and have a snooze ourselves or read a paper till he wakes. With daddy at home Curtis also got to play 'spacebaby' which only involves him being lifted high in the air and flown around - but he loves it.

This past week monkey man has been...

...teething as is usual these days and making funny lipsmacking noises when he sucks on his frozen teethers (see video which will hopefully upload ok!)
...going to bounced and rhyme at the library and then off for lunch with his wee pal Isla at the Queens Park glasshouse

...visiting Jamie, Dan, Milly and Pat

...and spending lots of time with my nanna. Curtis loved having his nanna here for a few days and as you can see wasn't keen to let her go!

...and making a splash in the bath

Curtis has been doing really well lately, still no more teeth but LOTS of dribble and a few nights with a temperature. He has however sprouted a very fine head of hair...tho not quite enough yet for a mowhawk!

This past week I've mainly been....

...learning to brush my own teeth. It took quite a few tears and some pain for my two wee teeth to come through at the bottom so I'm taking care to look after them with some guidance from my mum.

...playing with new toys

...still eating pretty much all foods I'm given and really enjoying being able to hold foods myself and squish some foods on the plate. Here I am sharing a mid morning snack of toast with my dad, with a blackberry yoghurt smile and happily swinging my legs as I squash some carrots with my hands.

...spending some time at my mums workplace and meeting some of the lovely staff there, here am I with my mate Kevin.

...getting to visit my fairy grandmother Pat who always makes me giggle. Here we are posing for a photo and playing with my socks.

...taking my first lot of books back to the library and getting some new ones. This one is great as it has lots of funny textured pages which I love to stroke as I look at the pictures.

...looking cool wearing my mums shower cap!

...showing my dad how excited I get when I go swimming on Sunday mornings. This week was even more exciting than usual as my little friend Isla tried to unzip my top the naughty little lady!

...having a lovely time with Nanna and Taid when they came to visit.

...streaking around the house before bathtime!

...touching peoples faces as often as I can

...looking cool in my latest flat cap and new clothes!

...and hanging out with my pals Loe, Erin, Zoe, Logan, Milly and Isla. Mum always forgets to take photos when we meet up so here are some from a few weeks ago.
