A whole lot of shaking going on...

Curtis's 1st favourite toy when he was about 4 months old was a donkey which played a tune when it was shaken. There's been a whole lot of shaking going on ever since as Curtis assumed that every toy would do the same. Donkey was sadly shaken to oblivion & no longer works but luckily some replacements have been found.
As reading is still a favourite past time, Curtis was delighted when a whole box of baby boards books with touchy feely pages arrived mid week.
..and there's been a whole lot of giggling going on too, which as of this week now includes a wrinkling of the nose...not sure if this is a developmental thing or something he has picked up from his childminder or one of the wee kids he sees when there. Its VERY cute all the same.
...and finally, here's Curtis being his usual chilled out self!

Let's Peep Through

Curtis has really taken to reading lately and this week is especially taken with his 'Bedtime Peekaboo' book. It has a mirror on the inside back page and all other pages have cut outs so that the reader can admire themselves in the mirror with the turn of each page. As you see, Curtis likes to have a good peep at himself as we go through the story!

Erin comes to play!

Curtis was lucky enough to have his little pal Erin come to play this afternoon. Erin who has just started crawling this week gave us some insight into how much babyproofing we need to do in the flat by finding a loose cable to chew within seconds of being sat on the floor! While Erin's mum Mags and I caught up and chatted, Erin and Curtis had a picnic of toast, rice cakes and strawberries. A lovely chilled afternoon for us all.

My cool waistcoat and having my own little picnic

Curtis has been enjoying eating his own food lately, so yesterday I made him his own little picnic of chicken sandwiches, sweetcorn crisps, raisins and banana. Much of it ended up on the floor but it looked like he had fun.

Curtis looked so cool in his waistcoat that we all wanted our picture taken with him!

Gigglespeak

Curtis has recently developed his vocubulary to include saying dadda and mumma but usually chooses to converse in gigglespeak as below. Ah, and please excuse the state of him of him...it had been a rather messy teatime!

Just a little bit of.....TOAST

Today's entry is dedicated to Curtis's latest passion.

Missing my Nanna

Curtis was lucky this week to have his nanna stay for almost 5 days and he made the most of it by getting as many cuddles in as he could. Nanna dutifully looked after Curtis giving Steph some much needed time to get on with work after Curtis's recent spells of teething and stomach bugs. Lots of fun was had, lots of books were read (or rather Curtis's favourite book was read and re-read 100 times) and much toast was eaten (Curtis's latest favourite thing!). Curtis thanked his nanna for looking after him with a present of a funky new handbag on the day she left, and a big cuddle. Nanna will be pleased to know that after teaching Curtis hand clapping - he finally did it himself today for the first time, so says the childminder, boo-hoo, we didnt get to see it ourselves :-(

8 months old today!!

Wow! Eight months old today!

Where did the time go? Steph is now back at work and Curtis is starting to get used to seeing his child minder and all is well, apart from those nasty little teeth that keep trying to pierce little gums. Grrrrrr!

January was a popular time for cute babies to be born...here's Beth, Steph's friends baby who was born just the day b4 Curtis, so a happy 8 month birthday to you too Beth xx

and here's a wee catch up from Curtis for the past week...

He's been visiting the fantastic softplay area at the Queens Park Glasshouses with his buddies Leo, Isla and Milly.

Spending lots of time with nanna

Going shopping with Taid...

Hanging out with the teddies ....

looking cool in the Boston top that Nanna and Taid bought for me

and being buried under a pile of toys - this is my dads solution ot trying to keep me entertained when he's busy!

And sadly, lots of teething pain (wow, I so look like my mum sometimes!)

Funny boy!

These past few days Curtis has been really suffering with an upset tummy as one of his top teeth tries to push its way out, so we’ve been doing frequent nappy changing around the clock. At my last 3am stint as I left him nappy free to get some air…I took the chance to file some work papers. Curtis had never seen or heard a hole punch in action before…here’s what he made of it! Strange boy…maybe an office job is on the horizon!!
